On April 1, 2008, Hillenbrand Industries, Inc., completed the spin-off of its funeral services business from its medical technology business, creating two separate publicly traded companies. Since then, the Hillenbrand Industries name was discontinued and the remaining company is known as Hill-Rom Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:HRC). Batesville Casket Company now operates under the parent company Hillenbrand, Inc. (NYSE:HI).
